Meet Florence Tandy.
Prior to founding Leadership Bridges, Florence had a 30-year career in nonprofit leadership positions, most recently as the Executive Director for Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission (2005-2018).
Florence has received such professional recognition as the Outstanding Executive award from the Kentucky Nonprofit Network (2013), the Outstanding Women of Northern Kentucky honor (2018), and community service awards from two Chambers of Commerce (Northern Kentucky in 2018, and Richmond, Kentucky in 1998). A lifelong learner, Florence has achieved numerous content area certifications including Certified Community Action Professional (CCAP); Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE); Certified Toastmaster; and a Servant Leadership Certificate.
One of Kentucky’s most experienced nonprofit board members, Florence has served on the boards of more than a dozen organizations, and currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Kentucky Nonprofit Network. To add to her board credentials Florence recently completed the Harvard Executive Education program, Women on Boards and is a founding member of Women Execs on Boards, which promotes women for corporate board service.
Her master’s degree in Organizational Leadership has provided the background needed to tackle challenging leadership, governance, and sustainability issues as an executive, as a consultant, and as a board member. She is known for her expertise in leadership development, governance, strategic planning, sustainability, team-building, and community affairs and is a popular speaker, writer, and thought leader on such topics as leadership, governance, team-building, and compliance.
Florence is a University of Kentucky basketball fan, an avid reader, and a pretty good gardener. She has two grown children and lives in Erlanger, Kentucky with her husband of 41 years.
